There are many different ways you can get the most out of your workout without spending your whole spring break on it. Here are some general rules you can use to make the most out of your workouts. Good posture is key when trying to get in shape. Bad posture can lead to no results and mild or even serious injuries. Good posture can lead to a nice, toned body. Ninety percent of all exercises are best done with a straight back, not rounded off and not swinging back and forth. When you’re performing a regular curl, your back should be straight and not swinging as you lift or lower the weight. What you are trying to do is a bicep curl, so use your bicep as the main force in moving the weight, not your back. It’s far better to lift weight slowly, with accuracy and concentration, than quickly to get through the exercise or just to accomplish a certain number of lifts. Even if what you’re doing is a back exercise, you will still need to keep your back straight and lift slowly. Furthermore, you will look like a professional if you use a lighter weight and lift slowly and correctly with a straight back and proper breathing. Not to mention better results!
So just to reiterate: when lifting, keep your back straight! No slouching or rounding of the back. Keep your back still, no swinging or using your back to do all of the work of a non back workout. Thank you for joining us, and we hope you have a healthy, prolonged, fit life. – Breelaun Marchai
