Spring is almost here and ‘tis the season to say goodbye to the dreary winter weather, and say hello to sunshine (and some rain). This spring brings us some amazing styles. Fashion trends on the runway may not always be the most practical and everyday wear, but we’re going to narrow down the top trends and encourage innovative outfits inspired from the runway that can be created confidently right from your closet.
Look like a seventies flower child with a bold and colorful tie-dye print in any top or bottom, and pair the opposite with a solid fabric to maintain the focus on the trend. Festive fringe is in and shown in various styles such as vests, tops, and even booties and heels. Paisley patterns are perfect especially on a wide leg, bell-bottom type of pant, best worn with wedges. Also, trapeze dresses, ruffles, lace baby doll dresses accessorized with floral head crowns, flash metallic tattoos, and layered necklaces and bangles add a boho vibe. These haute hippie-esque looks will guarantee you backstage access at the next Bonnaroo festival.
50 Shades of White
Wearing white was a hot trend in the winter, and it will be continuing right into the next season. This spring, white is the new black. This color will whisper a serene and lovely vibe. Caftan shape dresses are angelic and, when paired with a belt, will cinch and accentuate your waist. Graceful tunics and A-line skirts will exude elegance and beauty. Pale neutrals and shades of white will perfect the monochrome white-on-white style.
Camouflage made a statement on this season’s runway. Camo jackets, dresses, pants, coats, and purses are the movement. Pocket detailing was seen on various articles of clothing such as the plain tee and denim. Parachute silk coats, military buttons and jackets, and of course shades of army green will make a fighting statement.
Leather is always trending and this season continues in a variety of articles such as coats, pants, tops, dresses as seen with Balmain, and matching sets with designer Moschino. Layering leather is hot and very fashion forward. If you are feeling audacious, pair a leather bustier with a leather skirt, or leather pant with a leather moto jacket and booties. For leather style a bit more subdued, pair a chambray top with a leather skater skirt, or skinny jeans and a white tee with a leather jacket.
The most American of textiles – denim is forever trending. This spring, denim on denim is in. Layering pieces of denim, different colors and textures look laidback but well put together. Pairing a denim button down top with distressed boyfriend inspired denim with a colored studded flat is chic. Also in style are denim dresses, denim jackets, denim pants (of course), and denim jumpsuits and overalls. Yes, denim overalls are hip again and when properly embellished, they are among hen properly embellished, they are among
